Testimonials
- Sydney, a 67 year old woman who has custody of her grandchild, had her health insurance cancelled when she was late mailing her payments. She wasn’t notified right away and continued to use her insurance. She can be reinstated once she pays back the $5,000 worth of benefits she received when she wasn’t covered. We assisted with her disconnected electric bill since she was using her disability check to pay for her prescriptions.
- Amy, a 52 year old single woman, had just completed her substance abuse program and entered transitional housing. We assisted with a portion of her first month’s rent since she hadn’t received her first paycheck yet.
- Wes and Mary (both in their 40’s) and their 7 children came in for assistance with their disconnect notice for their electric bill. He’d lost his business and was working side jobs to make ends meet. Since he has a contractor’s license, he hopes to have some home renovation projects starting in the spring.
- Ellen, a 59 year old woman, was referred for assistance with her water bill. She had to use her retirement pay to pay for a family funeral and didn’t have the funds for the water bill.
- Jessica and Tom needed assistance with rent. Their son and daughter-in-law had to move in when the company Jessica and her son worked for closed their doors and they needed to share expenses. Both mom and son are on unemployment. Tom was the only one working at the time we met.
