Holiday Food Program

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries
2014 Holiday Food Program
Although it may be hard to believe, even here in one of the wealthiest counties in the country, many families can’t afford a holiday meal.  WFCM is dedicated to helping those neediest in our communities with food for the holidays.  WFCM matches families in need with local groups, businesses, churches, and individuals willing to sponsor families for the holidays.  The Holiday Food Program can make the holidays brighter for families, but WFCM needs your help to make this program a success. (One Family's Experience)

We are gearing up for our 2014  Holiday Food Program.  WFCM is expecting to serve over 1,500 families with holiday food assistance.  We need the community’s involvement to serve so many families.  Ways to help:
  • Sponsor a Family.  You may sponsor a family (or families) for one or both holidays, providing food in any type of container (box, bag, bin, or basket) and delivering it directly to the family.  Contact to sponsor a family and for suggestions on food to include. (Sponsor-A-Family Guidelines 2014)
  • Donate Grocery Store Gift Cards.  You may donate gift cards in any amount from a local grocery store (Giant, Shoppers, Walmart, Aldie, etc.) to support families.  Please include a note with the gift cards that they are for Holiday Food Assistance.  Gift cards can be dropped off at our Food Pantry located at 13888 Metrotech Drive, Chantilly, near Lowe’s, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.,  or mailed to WFCM, attn: Holiday Food Assistance, P.O. Box 220802, Chantilly, VA 20153.  (Please no cash donations.)
  • Donate Funds.   Donate Now to WFCM’s client service programs through our secure online form on our website.  Or mail a check to Western Fairfax Christian Ministries at:   WFCM, P.O. Box 220802, Chantilly, VA 20153.  Donations will help WFCM meet the financial needs of families needing help with rent, utilities, and other basic needs.
The families who will be receiving food assistance are WFCM clients or have been recommended for the program, and have been pre-screened for eligibility.  The majority of the families have children who receive free or reduced cost lunches at school.  WFCM shares information with other community organizations to make sure we are not serving the same families.  This is especially important given both the tremendous need and our desire to make sure we can serve all of the families coming to us for holiday food assistance.
WFCM’s Holiday Food Program gives our community a unique opportunity to help others truly in need and elevates an act of generosity into a blessing for all involved.

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries’ Holiday Food Program helps those in need in Western Fairfax County with food for the holidays.  Thanks to support from the community, WFCM was able to help make the 2013 holiday season brighter for over 1,279 families!  Thank you to everyone who has supported WFCM’s Holiday Food Program this year by sponsoring families, donating gift cards, volunteering or providing support in so many ways! (Holiday Thanks)
