EmployeesMelissa Jansen (Executive Director) joined WFCM in January 2008, with over 18 years of experience in management, both corporate and non-profit. Previous to her leading WFCM, she was Director at Sanctity of Life Ministries, opening two crisis pregnancy centers. In addition, Melissa previously taught high school and volunteered in the jail ministry and as a youth group leader. She has a B.S. in Education from the University of Kansas, and is pursuing a Masters in counseling.
Leah Ann Furr (Director of Client Services) joined WFCM in February of 2008. She had previously been Assistant Food Pantry Manager at the ministry, after serving as a volunteer for several months. Leah Ann's responsibilities include but are not limited to general oversight of the Client Services program, meeting and interviewing clients, managing grant monies, and providing tracking reports on disbursements of funds. Prior to joining WFCM, she worked as a payroll supervisor within the Office of the Architect of the Capital. She is an active volunteer with both the Girl Scouts and Fairfax County Public Schools.
Annette Bosley (Volunteer Manager) joined WFCM in July of 2009. She was promoted to Volunteer Manager in June 2010 and is currently responsible for the WFCM Volunteer Management Program, overseeing prospective, new and regular Administrative, Client Services, Food Pantry and Thrift Store Volunteers. Prior to joining the WFCM team, she worked for the Department of the Navy for over 20 years. She has enjoyed being a volunteer with the American Red Cross, INOVA Fairfax Hospital Treasure Trove and Fairfax County Adapted Aquatics program. She is delighted to be working at WFCM.
Jennie Bush (Community Outreach Manager) joined WFCM in March of 2012. She earned a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Tennessee and has eight years of experience in project management, training and consulting. She is active in missions and outreach activities at her church and volunteers in Fairfax County Public Schools. Prior to joining WFCM, Jennie served her church as the WFCM Church Champion. Jennie’s responsibilities at WFCM include overseeing the Fannie Mae Mini Walks and Activities, School Backpack Drive and the Holiday Assistance Program.
Jeanette Nagel (Grant Writer) joined WFCM in October of 2010. She is a native of Southern California, where she started a writing/editing career after earning a B.A. from Geneva College. She came to Northern Virginia in 1989 to work on publications for Prison Fellowship, gaining zeal to help the lost and hurting in Christ's name.
Terri Kelly (Food Pantry Manager) joined WFCM in October of 2010. She previously managed the satellite office in Centreville and served the needs of our clients there as our Community Outreach Manager. She also helped with the ministry by heading the backpack drive, Fannie Mae Mini Walks as well as the Holiday assistance program. In March 2012, she transitioned into the role as Food Pantry Manager. She attended Iona College in New York and has been an active volunteer at the Lamb Center and Fairfax County Public Schools.
Linda Emerick (Assistant Food Pantry Manager) was hired in December 2010 after working for a year as a volunteer in WFCM's thrift store. She considers it a great privilege to serve our clients and work alongside dedicated staff and volunteers. Linda is currently active at Chantilly High School, with Boy Scouts and with her church. She holds a B.S. in Horticulture from the University of Maryland.
Lillian Diaz (Thrift Store Manager) was hired in June of 2008. She is responsible for the day to day operation of the store, as well as of the Mercy Closet, which provides free clothing and household goods to families facing extreme financial hardship. Prior to joining WFCM, Lillian held management positions in a number of different fields, and remains an active volunteer within the community. She is involved with church development, and is currently a counselor at her home church, working with individuals facing a variety of problems. Lillian holds a degree in Medical Technology from the Interamerican University in Puerto Rico.
Kitty Beachy (Thrift Store Assistant) joined WFCM in February of 2012 after volunteering in the Thrift Store for two years. Before joining WFCM, she worked as an LPN in Pennsylvania and then at Inova Fairfax Hospital. She left so that she and her husband could become foster parents to 19 children for Fairfax County. Kitty worked in retail for 13 years, and again her heart turned to children, leading her to the Inova Fairfax Hospital Child Care Center for the next 18 years.
Mary Patch-Johnson (Client Services Assistant) joined WFCM in August of 2010. Prior to coming to WFCM, she worked as a Community Relations Manager/Administrative Assistant in Centreville. She lived in South America for 19 years, raising her five children, where she worked as a bilingual Secretary for La Trinidad Anglican Episcopal Church. In addition, she participated in programs providing support and care for abused homeless girls.
